This Privacy Policy provides information about the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing of personal data when you visit this website. It is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Hosting and Server Logs

This website is hosted by a web hosting provider in Germany. When you visit the pages, the hosting provider automatically collects technical data in what are known as server logs:

  • IP address of the requesting device (truncated/anonymized)
  • Date and time of access
  • URL accessed
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser and operating system used

This data is processed for the purpose of delivering content, ensuring the security of the infrastructure, and analyzing errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). This data is not combined with any other data. Logs are deleted after a short period of time.

Cookies

This website currently uses only one technically necessary cookie:

  • pll_language – Stores the selected language (German or English). Set by the Polylang plugin. Duration: 1 year. Functionally necessary; therefore, no consent required pursuant to § 25(2)(2) TTDSG.

No tracking, analytics, or marketing cookies are set. Therefore, a cookie banner is not required.

Services and Plugins Used

Polylang (Multilingualism)

The Polylang Pro plugin provides content in German and English. It uses the aforementioned pll_languagecookie. No data is transferred to third parties.

Rank Math SEO

Rank Math generates structured metadata (Schema.org JSON-LD) to improve search engine visibility. No cookies are set, and no personal data from visitors is shared with third parties.

Google Search Console

This website is verified for Google Search Console. Verification takes place without a JavaScript tag in the visitor’s browser; only anonymous aggregate data on search queries—which Google collects anyway through its own index—is transmitted. No data about website visitors is shared with Google. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring the content can be found).

Contact Form (WPForms)

If you use a contact form on this website, the data you enter (name, email address, message) will be processed solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This data will not be disclosed to third parties. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) of the GDPR. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for processing, but no later than two years after collection.

What this website does NOT use

Just to clarify: the following are not currently used on 44-2.de:

  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or other tracking services
  • Facebook Pixel, Meta plugins, or other social media trackers
  • YouTube, Vimeo, or other video embeds
  • External web fonts (Google Fonts, etc.)
  • Ad networks or retargeting
  • External comment or avatar services (Gravatar disabled in the frontend display)

The footer contains hyperlinks to my LinkedIn and GitHub profiles. These are standard links—you will only be redirected to the respective platform once you actively click on them. No data is transmitted to LinkedIn or GitHub before you click.

Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right at any time to:

  • Information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten,” Art. 17 GDPR)

This Privacy Policy will be updated if changes are made to the website or the services used. Effective as of June 27, 2026.
